*$5 tour covers festivities at Stockyards Station including Santa visits, refreshments, entertainment
FORT WORTH (November 24, 2009) – The T and Stockyards Station will host their annual Holiday Lights tour of more than 200 decorated homes on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13, starting at 5:30 p.m. with tour buses departing from Stockyards Station at 130 East Exchange Avenue from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
The event price of $5 per person covers the bus tour and all Holiday Lights pre-tour festivities at Stockyards Station. Children age 5 and younger are free. No reservations are required.
The public is encouraged to bring cameras to capture free visits with Santa and other pre-tour festivities, including face-painting, entertainment by a balloon artist and holiday music. Hot chocolate and Christmas cookies will be served.
The public also is invited to visit the rest of the Stockyards before and after the tour for dinner and Christmas shopping. The Stockyards are open until midnight on Saturday and 10 p.m. on Sunday.
Holiday Lights tour festivities and bus tour ticket sales begin just inside the Stockyards Station mall at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. Tour buses load from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Each bus tour of the decorated holiday homes takes about 1½ hours.
During the lighted homes tour, a group of neighborhood carolers will greet each bus and costumed elves will distribute candy canes to children on board.
