The T wins national marketing award for recruitment campaign
FORT WORTH (October 15, 2007) The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) announced that The T won first place in the 28th Annual AdWheel Award competition for a recruitment campaign that increased the targeted applicant pool by 38 percent, including more bilingual candidates.
The AdWheel Awards, which recognize excellence in public transportation marketing and communications, were presented on October 8 in Charlotte, NC, as part of APTA’s 2007 Annual Meeting. More than 750 entries were received in this year’s competition. The T won in the print category for advocacy/awareness advertising.
Headlined “Fu ure all you need is The T,” the campaign’s strategy was to position The T as a place that cultivates long-term careers with advancement.
The T began this campaign in FY 2005-06 because increased ridership required more bus operators and customer service representatives. The campaign included newspaper ads, billboards, bus benches, recruitment post cards, posters and brochures to attract more bus operators and customer service staff who are bilingual, and with the skills to support The T’s initiative to enhance customer service for riders and the public.
“Receiving a coveted AdWheel Award is a prestigious accomplishment and should be celebrated as a mark of originality, creativity, and excellence in public transportation marketing and communications,” said APTA President William W. Millar.
