T donates bikes to police department Dec. 4 in thanks for keeping riders safe
* Downtown bike patrol to receive new bikes at Intermodal Transportation Center ceremony
FORT WORTH, TX (November 27, 2007) Officers from the Fort Worth Police Department Downtown Bike Patrol will receive new bikes donated by The T on Tuesday, December 4, at 10 a.m. at a presentation ceremony at the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC), 1001 Jones Street.
Mayor Pro Tem Kathleen Hicks and Fort Worth Police Chief Ralph Mendoza will accept the bikes on behalf of the Fort Worth Police Department, representatives from the bike patrol and the Fort Worth Police Bike Patrol Citizens Support Group.
“The T is pleased to make this donation as a token of our appreciation for the great job the downtown bike patrol does to enhance the safety of the more than six million passengers who use the ITC each year,” said T President Dick Ruddell.
The following bike patrol citizens group board members plan to attend: Jay Bond, HUD; Rodney Burgess, Radio Shack; Patrick Dougherty, KSCS 96.3; Mae Ferguson, Fort Worth Sister Cities; James Graham, XTO Energy; Glen Hahn; Innovative Developers Inc;
Todd Holzaepfel, Downtown Fort Worth Inc.; John Joyce, Bass Companies and chair of the Bike Patrol Citizens Support Group; Urbin McKeever, Frost Bank; Jerry Miller, Cityview Carwash; Tarrant County Tax Assessor Betsy Price and Fort Worth Police Department Deputy Chief Rhonda Robertson.
Following the presentation, The T will provide refreshments for the bike patrol and other guests in the Community Room of the ITC.
