T’s minor changes to eight bus routes improve connections, efficiency
FORT WORTH (May 16, 2008) The T makes minor changes to eight of its routes effective Sunday, May 18, which include some route extensions and schedule time changes to improve operational efficiency.
Routes 13 and 19, the current mid-day circulator trolleys, will be combined into one expanded route called the Sundance Shuttle. The single route will pick up passengers from Pier 1, Radio Shack, Cash America and the Whitley Penn Building and provide transport into and around the core of downtown during mid-day.
Extensions include:
Route 9 - extended by nearly a mile to serve the Hope Center at Loop 820 and E. Berry Street.
Route 21 all buses will go to Randol Mill instead of terminating at the Wal-mart stop on Eastchase in order to better serve apartments in the area without increasing costs.
Route 22 all buses will go to Brentwood Stair instead of terminating at the Wal-Mart stop on Eastchase in order to better serve apartments in the area with minimal cost increase.
Time adjustments include:
Route 3 discontinue a short 7:20 a.m. downtown loop of this route that had been added to wait for passengers arriving on the 7:17 a.m. TRE train. Passengers weren’t using this loop of the route.
Route 11 minor timepoint adjustments along this route due to increasing traffic volume for improved on-time performance.
Route 7 change the last ITC bus departure Thursday through Saturday from 11:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. due to lack of riders during the later hour.
Route 25 adjust last eastbound trip on Saturday to leave Camp Bowie and Hulen at 10:35 p.m. instead of 10:31 p.m. for improved reliability of transfer with Route 2. Also, minor time changes weekdays on the westbound trips from the East Transfer Center to Miller and Mansfield to improve reliability of transfers to southbound Route 3 at the Resource Connection.
