Take a lights-fantastic trip on The T bus tours of decorated homes Dec. 8 & 9

FORT WORTH, TX (November 19, 2007) – This year’s annual Holiday Lights bus tour, sponsored by The T and Stockyards Station on Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9, will wind past more than 200 decorated homes and includes pre-tour family-friendly entertainment, activities and refreshments. As part of the entertainment on Dec. 8, Teatro de la Rosa Theater -- the resident Latino theater company at the Rose Marine Theater -- will perform songs and scenes in costume from the upcoming production of La Posada Magica, a Christmas musical.
Buses for the tour will board each night at Stockyards Station, 130 East Exchange Avenue, which is located at the eastern edge of the Stockyards. There is free parking just north of Stockyards Station. No reservations are required.
The Holiday Lights pre-tour festivities and bus tour ticket sales begin just inside the Stockyards Station mall at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. Tour buses load from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Each bus tour of the decorated holiday homes takes about 1½ hours. The cost is $5.00 per person. Children 5 and younger ride free. The price includes all pre-tour activities.
Pre-tour activities at Stockyards Station include free photos with Santa, hot chocolate and cookies, reindeer antlers, face painting and a balloon artist. The Kirkpatrick Middle School Choir will provide a holiday concert both nights, while players from Rose Marine Theater perform on Dec. 8, only.
During the lighted homes tour, a group of carolers will greet each bus and elves will distribute candy canes and a holiday trinket to children on board. Many homes on the tour have been decorated in preparation for an annual competition for the most lights, best use of a theme, best caricature, and best of show.
The public also is invited to visit the rest of the Stockyards before and after the tour for dinner and Christmas shopping.
