T displays public service ads for National “Moment of Remembrance”
* Many U.S. transit agencies to post signs and pause buses as part of Memorial Day campaign

FORT WORTH (May 22) -- In partnership with the Federal Transit Administration, the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) has displayed public service messages on 20 buses to remind residents to pause at 3 p.m. on May 28 --Memorial Day -- to remember those who have given their lives in service to their country and the families they left behind.

The bus messages are to support the White House Commission on the National Moment of Remembrance.  The T also will participate in the national effort by stopping all buses for a moment at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 28. It also will support the remembrance by driving with headlights turned on.

The Federal Transit Administration created the “One Nation. One Moment to Reflect” transit advertising campaign as part of a U.S. Department of Transportation-wide effort to observe and promote the White House Commission’s National Moment of Remembrance.   FTA provided the display graphics free of charge to transit agencies across the country.

“The T is pleased to participate in this Memorial Day national outreach campaign that encourages us to remember America’s fallen soldiers and their families,” said Dick Ruddell, president and chief executive of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority.

“The White House Commission on the National Moment of Remembrance is dedicated to educating Americans on the many sacrifices our soldiers made to preserve our liberties, and to instill in all of us a greater understanding of what it means to be an American,” Ruddell said.
