The T’s Bus Service Changes to Include New Route and Later Hours
FORT WORTH (May 9, 2007) To better serve the city’s public transportation needs, the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) will launch a new bus route and implement service changes affecting three bus routes effective Sunday, May 20.
The T will introduce a new route Route 23 to extend public transportation to a rapidly growing commercial center on the city’s north side. The route will connect the Mercantile Center business park with the Northside Transfer center via Meacham Blvd, Blue Mound Rd. and Terminal Rd. The new weekday route will run hourly on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The T will implement later bus service from the downtown Intermodal Transportation Center for Route 7, a heavily traveled route that covers major portions of University Drive and serving the cultural district and TCU area. The service will add one later trip weekday evenings at 10:15 p.m. and three additional trips on Saturday evenings at 8:15, 9:15 and 10:15 p.m.
On Route 41, The T will adjust scheduled afternoon departure times from Wal-Mart to make the intervals between departures more consistent.
On Route 25, The T will adjust the schedule so that passengers on the 10:43 p.m. eastbound bus will be able to connect at La Gran Plaza and continue to the Eastside Transfer Center.
For more specific details about the changes, call 817-215-8600 or visit www.the-t.com. The T’s bus route and schedule information are available on The T website at www.the-t.com and TRE schedules are posted on www.trinityrailwayexpress.org.
