Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) Clarifies Status of Onboard Systems Project; Relationship with Technology Partner
FORT WORTH, TEXAS, (March 21, 2008) Today the Fort Worth Transportation Authority located in Fort Worth Texas, and known as “The T” to local residents, clarified the status of a current onboard systems project for its fixed route and paratransit service and its relationship with technology partner, Trapeze Group.
On March 10, 2008 Fort Worth Transportation Authority filed a lawsuit against Trapeze for unspecified damages related to the project. Dick Ruddell, President/Executive Director of Fort Worth Transportation Authority acknowledged that the lawsuit may have been filed prematurely as it was filed during a period when Trapeze was to be given the opportunity to cure several open project issues. Furthermore, Trapeze has strongly disputed all allegations made by The T in the lawsuit, including the allegation that Trapeze could not provide the contracted system.
Ruddell continued: “While there have been several delays with this complex project on both ends, together with Trapeze we have achieved a mutually satisfactory resolution. We have had a long-standing and strong relationship with Trapeze, use many of their solutions, and consider them a valued technology partner now and in the future. To be clear, we will not be pursuing a lawsuit against Trapeze.”
The onboard systems project involves outfitting the The T’s fleet with cameras, automatic passenger counters, global positioning systems (GPS). Approximately 40 of The T’s vehicles have already been outfitted with cameras and the project is ongoing.
